Traditionally built, cladding for habitable buildings has been a method of installation for thousands of years. It’s a simple concept of creating a cavity wall (inner and outer) tied together. The joints externally (internally as well if wet laid materials), are fully mortared or sealed with silicone creating a locked in space within the cavity.

Thermal efficiency: By creating a fully sealed vacuum within the cavity with neutral air flow, coupled with filling most of the void with appropriate insulation, you have a high-performing insulating layer, thus achieving high energy retaining performance and reducing the building's energy cost.

Moisture prevention: one of the main advantages of traditionally built facades is reducing the likelihood of moisture buildup. Incorporating the installation of cavity trays and damp-proof layers in strategic positions and sealing the cavity, everything stays dry from the face of the external leaf inwards.

Heat regulation: cavity walls in traditional cladding insulate in two ways. Firstly, trapped air, which also leads to a lack of heat transference, reduces heat loss inside the building during the winter. Secondly, due to the sealed inner and outer layers, conditioned air cannot escape inside during the hotter months of the year.

Stronger and more economical to build: Creating a cavity between the inner and external leaf requires fewer materials. Ties to lock the skins together through the cavity provide a strong, independent façade.
